I was very surprised to find that Dallas was pretty walk-able. I’m not sure why- perhaps a stereotype about the state itself. The DART is useful for traveling from the airport to downtown, and the sidewalks are spacious. There are walk lights at intersections, and cars seem to yield to pedestrians.
The Metropolitan on Main was within walking distance to my hotel. My partner visited one morning, and encouraged me to come along another morning. I agreed, and I am very happy that I did!
Atmosphere

The atmosphere was quite nice, with very unique and pleasing furniture to sit at. We sat at a small round table by the door to the building next door. Luckily, this did not pose an issue at all. It did feel like there wasn’t much room, but that was a very small feeling.
We made ourselves comfortable once we were seated, which didn’t take long. The staff were incredibly kind, and also a bit chatty with us! We had a nice few conversations with people. It took some time for our order to be taken, but we had our drinks while we waited.

Food

We were met with a nice selection of dining options when we were seated. Many of the options were tempting, but I kept going back to the Lemon Mascarpone French Toast. And I was very glad that I did. It was satisfying, tasty, and relatively affordable for the place. I’d eat it again if I went back!

Yes, I had two cups of coffee. One cappuccino, my food, then another cappuccino. The coffee was great, and was strong enough to help me jump start my morning.

My partner ordered their breakfast burger, and I was jealous despite my own amazing meal. It smelled fantastic, and was a nice, heaping helping of food. It got both of us in the mood for eating, which is one of the best indicators of good food.
